Lily Harrison | Class of 2019

What have you been up to since leaving school?

It’s been 6 years so, a lot! Moved to Canberra, met some of my now favourite people, chaired the ACT Youth Advisory Council, visited the Isle of Skye (and other cool places), was part of the small team that coordinated David Pocock’s 2025 campaign and, most recently, graduated from ANU with bachelors in Public Policy and Arts.

What is a skill, subject or moment that surprisingly helped prepare you for life after school?

My Society and Culture and English Extension major works taught me things like how to ask good questions, project management, the power of drafting and editing – all very useful for my degrees.

What is something you feel grateful for when you think of your school days?

How much my teachers cared about me as, not only a student, but a whole person.

For yourself or the world generally: what’s next?

Next for me is the Broulee Ocean Swim and a trip to Morocco. There are many things I hope for the world but perhaps foremost at the moment is a revitalisation of trust in government.
