What have you been up to since school?
After graduating high school in 2021, I went straight into studying a Bachelor of Science at Melbourne Uni with the intent to pursue further postgraduate study in medicine. I lived at Janet Clarke Hall, one of the Melbourne Uni colleges, for the first three years and was the President of the Student Club in 2024.
I took an extra semester to finish my degree, but I graduated in July 2025 with a major in Anatomy and Physiology. I sat the GAMSAT (medical school entrance exam) in March 2025 and took the second half of the year off, working and enjoying a break from study. I am now nearing the end of my first semester as a medical student at Deakin University in Geelong, feeling so grateful to be here and excited for the future!
Something you miss or treasure?
Probably the sense of community that existed at school. Experiencing school for 13 years alongside so many members of my class was a unique experience that not many people get to have, and one that fostered a deep sense of connection. It’s been a while since we’ve seen each other regularly, and so many of us are spread out across the East Coast, but any time we reconnect, it feels as if no time has passed at all.
A funny memory
Probably my favourite memories of my class were any time we were on a bus. In true Steiner fashion, we love an impromptu sing-along, and long drives were the perfect opportunity for this. I have distinct memories of the journey to Year 6 camp, where we did an a capella rendition of the EDM song “Freaks” by Timmy Trumpet.
