Courage on the Pitch!
On Thursday 26th March, our U15’s soccer teams competed against Byron High School in Round 1 of the Bill Turner Knockout Competition.
Both teams demonstrated great courage throughout the day. The boys showed determination and resilience, putting in their best efforts right until the final whistle against a well-drilled Byron High side.
The girls played a nail-biting match that went to a penalty shootout, showing grit and courage under pressure. Lyluna who had never played in full size goals before was an impenetrable wall, stopping anything within possible reach. Not only that, she went on to score a goal herself and then save her counterparts penalty attempt, saving the shot to win the game. After seven rounds of penalties, they secured a well-earned victory! All girls showed immense courage to keep persevering, well done to you all.
The girls team will go on to compete against Shearwater in Round 2 early next term.
