To celebrate NAIDOC 2025 ‘The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy’, the High School Faculty of Cape Byron Rudolf Steiner School will be hosting a screening of Brenda Mathews’ The Last Daughter followed by a Q and A with Brenda herself.
Brenda is a First Nations woman who was part of the Stolen Generation and spent ‘part of her life growing up in a loving white foster family, before she was suddenly taken away and returned to her Aboriginal family’. The Last Daughter is a documentary film she made about her ‘journey to unearth the truth about her past, and to reconcile the two sides of her family’.
