HSC 2018
Cape Byron Rudolf Steiner School students and staff are extremely happy with the wonderful results achieved by their HSC students of 2018. Students achieved outstanding results across a large number of subjects including Drama, Music, Design and Technology, English Advanced and Extension, Society and Culture, Design and Technology and many others. In a cohort of 28 students, there were some fabulous achievements including 18 Band 6 results and 56 Band 5 results across 17 subjects.
Once again the school saw a strengthening of Band 5 results and an overall continued strengthening of academic success across all subjects. Cape Byron student, Mirani Astawa achieved an outstanding result of First in Course (NSW) in Beginners Indonesian. Mirani was presented with her award at a special ceremony in Sydney this week.
Some other stand out results were a 96% for Design & Technology, 98% for General Mathematics, 94% for Visual Arts, 93% and 91% for Music, 90% and 2 x 91% for Drama, 92% for German Beginners and 90% for Legal Studies.
Principal Nerrida Johnson commented : “The students have worked extremely hard in 2018. I am deeply proud of all our HSC students. Their results show an overall commitment to study and inspired learning. I am very proud of every single one of our graduating students, they have each completed a wonderful learning journey.” She said. “I’d also like to thank our skilled and dedicated staff and committed parents for helping guide these beautiful souls through their education. Steiner Education prepares students for the rigours of the HSC by cultivating academic excellence through a balance of academic studies, artistic achievements and practical learning.”
