The Ensemble Della Mar has just returned from a fabulous tour to Sydney. 29 students from class 6-11 and their instruments wowed the crowds with the high standard of their playing. A highlight of the trip was playing at the Wayside Chapel where we learnt about the fantastic work done there, helping homeless people in Kings Cross. They were also the most enthusiastic audience we had! We also really enjoyed playing at Gleneaon in their beautiful hall and taking the ferry over to see the Vivid light show. A big shout goes out to Cole and his merry quartet of guitars who were fabulous. Also to Yemaya for leading the Senior Strings so well. Thank you, Robbie and Ian, for always being amazing and ever giving and to our wonderful parents, Jessie and Natalie – we could not have done it without you.
One of the visitors of the Wayside Chapel sketched this while watching the performance there.
