Class Two began the year with an English Main Lesson; The Celtic Dragon Myth, a story about Duncan a fisherman and his children from the west country defeating giants (each one bigger than the last of course), a three headed dragon, and one very tricky mermaid. Currently, we are learning about maths patterns using wool to discover hidden shapes (did you know the 6x’s table has a star within it?) before drawing the patterns in our books, this will continue with 2D shapes practised on individual wooden boards made by the children. I’m so impressed with how hard the children work and how quickly they learn, it’s a delight to witness. I’m really looking forward to bringing the last Main Lesson of the term looking at the cyclical seasons of animals and flora that we share our beautiful Big Backyard with.
