Biala Special School’s enrolments are growing and we successfully applied to the Commonwealth Government Block Grant Authority for funds to build two new much needed High school classrooms and a Life Skills centre on the site at 78 Fox St Ballina. This will greatly enhance educational opportunities for children with a disability especially with the Life Skills centre. It is here that students will learn everyday life skills that most people take for granted such as safety in the home, domestic household tasks including bed making, cleaning the kitchen as well as cooking and healthy eating programs.

As part of the grant conditions to build the new classrooms and Life Skills centre Biala is required to contribute $88,055 to the project and these funds will be used in the fit-out of the new building. For a not-for-profit organisation such as Biala it is a considerable sum of money and therefore has become the focus for our fundraising efforts over 2017.

Tickets are selling fast to this event which will be loads of fun, be a great excuse to dress up and raise some much needed funds for a great cause.
Tickets are now available from our website www.biala.org.au or contact Biala Support Services Inc. office at 78 Fox Street Ballina for further information.
