We are extremely happy with the wonderful results achieved by the HSC students of 2017. There has been a notable strengthening of results across every subject with outstanding results having been achieved across a number of subjects such as Mathematics, Languages, Biology, Design and Technology, Drama and Music. In a cohort of 30 students, there were some fabulous achievements including 10 Band 6 results and 59 Band 5 results in 17 subjects.

The 2017 HSC class were notable for their unique and creative approach to their Major Works. Over 80% of the Visual Arts students receiving 80 or above. Music students also received excellent results with 12 out of 16 Music students receiving 80% or above and 3 impressive Band 6 results. The school’s history of excellent Drama results continued with 8 out of 12 students receiving Band 5 and above. Students demonstrated strength in other areas as well; with one of the school’s Mathematics students achieving high Band 6 in both Mathematics and Mathematics Extension.

Once again the school saw a strengthening of Band 5 results and and an overall continued strengthening of academic success across all subjects. English Advanced and English Extension 2 were again very strong subjects this year with more than half of the students in each subject receiving 80 or above. HSIE subjects showed very strong results with all Society and Culture students achieving over 80% and strong Band 5 results in Ancient History. Some brilliant language results were demonstrated with a 95% for French Beginners and a 93% for German Beginners. Our staff have been sharing the successes of their students in the last few weeks, even before the release of the results. 8 out of 12 Drama students were nominated for OnStage, with 4 being selected. One of the school’s talented artists has been offered a place at the Victorian College of the Arts and a number of students have already gained entry into universities of their choice.
