BASE Youth leadership awards

BASE Youth Leadership is a movement promoting young men and women to be recognised, guided and mentored to strive for excellence in the Tweed and Byron Shires.

Students can apply in various categories. Hundreds of applicants are reduced down to a shortlist of 10 in each category which this year included 3 CBRSS students; Yani Murray in the Sports Leadership category, Yemaya Nelson in the Performing Arts Leadership category and Lily Harrison in the Community Service/Citizenship Leadership category.

Today on International Women’s day a breakfast was held where the winners of the Women’s awards in each category were announced, congratulations to Lily for winning in her category, Lily has worked tirelessly to improve conditions for local homeless people and it is wonderful that she has been recognised for this. Congratulations also to Yemaya and Yani for being acknowledged as outstanding leaders, we’re very proud of all of you.
